The Hidden Sounds of Wheatfen

Join award-winning ecological sound artist David de la Haye and field recorder Martin Scaiff to discover the hidden sounds of Wheatfen.

Follow our trail around Wheatfen and experience the sounds of nature not detectable to the human ear. Use hydrophones to listen to the secret world of noise in our dykes and pond, be transported into the middle of a reedbed with hidden 360° surround sound microphones, listen to the flitting and flutter of birds flying and be immersed in the sounds of nature through small workshops run by our two experts.

The Education Team from The Broads Authority will also be pond dipping allowing you to see and find out which creatures are making what noises below the water.

No maximum stay but trails will be approx. 2hrs+. Wellies strongly recommended. Refreshments available.
